I currently have around a million humans in my charge, which is more than I’ve ever had. It keeps me quite busy most of the time.

A million? ..Wow. Being kept busy’s always a good thing, though. Takes your mind off things. 

The tie between angels and their vessels lies in the vessels blood.

Yes, I suppose. Time certainly passes more quickly with so many charges.  The first few eons went by rather slowly.

Whoa, wait a minute. You’ve been alive for billions of years? In the same body? 

No, there are plenty of families to be used as vessels. Not many angels walk the earth though so most remain ignorant to our existence.
